We are excited to announce that we are winners of the 2014 BEST OF THE HUDSON VALLEY!!!
We won best Tiramisu!!!  The 2014 list is not up yet-we will surely post it as soon as its up!  For those of you that have had the opportunity to try some, you understand why we are winners--because its so dang YUMMY!!!!  We are thrilled and honored to be amongst so many wonderful vendors, creators, and makers of the Valley, HURRAY!!!!

We were delighted to prepare the hors d'oevres for the fabulous Kiki Smith and Valerie Hammond exhibit at the historical Plum Bronson house in Hudson, NY.  A memorable occasion.  Kiki Smith has long time been one of my most favorite women artists alive today.  For this special event, we created simple, elegant bite sized hors d'oevres that focused on local taste.

Apple Pie Contest Winners!

We entered our first ever Apple Pie Contest.  We entered the famous Montgomery Orchards/Farm Stand pie contest which is in its 9th year!  We admit that as much as we love to cook we are not apple pie pro's, in fact we really never gave the gazillions of variety much thought until this contest.  I will say that tasting apples is a bit like tasting wine, its complicated!  In the course of this contest we have fallen head over heals in love with the different variety of apples that Montgomery Orchards grows.  They are truly apple-growing-artists.  We actually selected Gianni's apples because not only was their taste worthy of a bedroom expression but they named it "Starry Night".  They said the name was inspired because at night this apple shown like a little star on its tree.  Isn't that just so poetic! 

So at the very last minute an hour before the contest was to begin, we both put our pies in to the oven-no practice run-but hey this was supposed to be fun and we had client meetings in the morning.

BUT..... WE WON IN BOTH CATEGORIES!!!!!  HURRAY!!!!!  We took second place in crumbtop (gianni's pie) and second place in double crust (my pie)

Next year we have big plans for our pies and we hope to be blue ribbon winners.  What a fun contest and what wonderful inspiring pies.

Farm Tables Summer Adventure in Sicily

 Our annual escape to Sicily always provides us with a renewed passion for simple, fresh, rustic meals.  Beautiful ingredients found growing on ancient paths, silver lined sea with fish glimmering on the surface, warm breeze's with the scent of wood fired bread, so delicious!  We are dreaming of hosting a retreat sometime.....

Wow!  An entire season has passed since our last post, which frankly is a good thing because we have been way too busy cooking to write about it!

This fall we've had the opportunity to cater some wonderful events along the Hudson including the wonderful Friends of Claremont and many other cocktail parties in Germantown, NY and Rhinebeck, NY.  We have loved participating with our community in this delicious and marvelous manner.

As the Winter Holiday season is approaching we want to remind you of the wonderful opportunity to make entertaining a pleasure by allowing us to help.  We can do all the cooking and clean up!!!  We offer full meal service as well as cocktail parties and drop off meals.  Don't hesitate to book now!
